The Village @ Gureje

Located within Gureje boutique, the Village @ Gureje, Renate Albertsen-Marton Gallery, is an all-round hub for community activities: from community classes and meetings; gallery shows; and promotional events. The Village is dedicated to nourishing the community spiritually, artistically, and socially through the arts.

The Village offers various of residence programs that support artist in music, visual art, and theatre; thereby, affording artists the opportunity to celebrate their talent and interest in order to generate a learning experience that is both planned and spontaneous. These programs are designed to enhance self-awareness and spiritual growth and create an experience that nurtures an appreciation and understanding of the importance of community.

The residence programs at the Village @ Gureje reinforce the values we encourage and celebrate the craft of each artist. All artists are recommended to become involved in the process of creating an educational community by leading classes, workshops, and other events that facilitate the exchange of ideas and techniques.

Since its founding in 2002, the Village @ Gureje has witnessed immense support from its immediate community of artists and patrons. We have also been particularly blessed to have a wonderful group of hard-working volunteers and in-kind contributions which have helped enormously in the necessary upgrades to facilitate our program presentations.

The Village currently hosts figure drawing classes and a Japanese drumming (taiko) school, and One Love Center. We are always open to proposals for workshops and classes that will contribute to the growth of the community.
